Did you know you can create a specific list of cost codes that are assigned to each of your projects? This is called “Project Scoping”. This allows your employees to only view the cost codes assigned to the project they are working on, instead of scrolling through possibly dozens of unrelated cost codes.
Before you get started: If you have Project Scoping turned on, but have not assigned cost codes to a project, your employees won’t be able to clock into that project. |
Project Scoping from the Web
Step One: Turn on Project Scoping from the Web
From the left navigation menu select Settings.
Select Time Keeping.
Click on Cost Code Tracking.
Check the box next to Project Scoping and click on Update.
Step Two: Assign Cost Codes to Projects
From the “left navigation menu” select Projects.
Select the project you want to assign cost codes to.
Click on Manage on the top right.
You’ll see 3 headers, select Cost Codes.
Click on Manage on the top left.
From here check the boxes next to all the cost codes you want assigned to this project. Then click Submit.
Note: You can easily find cost codes by using the search bar. If your cost codes are grouped, you can also choose to assign an entire group of cost codes. Learn more about managing cost codes here. |
