What happened to the Daily Project Reports?

They're still here! Our awesome Daily Project Reports have been renamed to Field Reports to better reflect their typical usage and the needs they fill. Reporting and customizing is still the same as the classic DPRs you're used to!

What is a Field Report?

A Field Report is a summary of the work that was completed on a project during any particular day. The report can include information such as the number of hours worked, the tasks completed, what the weather was that day, any issues or challenges encountered, and any other relevant information.

How do I create a Field Report using busybusy?

To create a Field Report, you can use the mobile app or the web-based software. On the web, simply log in to your busybusy account and select the project you want to report on from the Projects tab. From there, click on the Field Reports option on the right side of the page, then click the Create button. We also have a great article HERE that can walk you through how to do that in the mobile app.

Can I customize my Field Reports?

Yes, busybusy allows you to customize your Field Report! You can choose which information you would like to include in the report, as well as the order it’s displayed in, by creating a custom template. Who can view Field Reports?

Admins can view Field Reports submitted by everyone. Other positions may only view these reports if they were submitted by someone who they have permission to track time for. For example: If your supervisors are able to track time for employees, they’ll be able to view the Field Reports an employee submits. But an employee who only has permission to track their own time will only be able to view their own reports. We have a great article HERE that can walk you through how to adjust those permissions if you need to!

Can I share my Field Reports with others?

Yes, you can download the Field Reports to share with others! You can share reports with your team, clients, or other stakeholders by exporting them as PDFs.

Ok but… Do I actually need this feature?

Well, that depends! Do you like seeing a daily summary of the work done for each project? With a nice, convenient outline of who worked, the cost codes used, and the pictures uploaded for the day? If you answered yes to any of that - or even if your answer was more along the lines of “Hey, I guess that could come in handy” - then Field Reports would be a great fit for you!
