Admin User vs Admin (Owner) and Transferring Account Ownership

Need to transfer your busybusy account ownership from one admin user to another? This article will give you the simple instructions on how to do just that!

So what's the difference between an Admin user and the Admin (Owner) user you ask? Well, Admin user employees, as well as the Admin (Owner), have full access to all company account settings and permissions. However, the Admin (Owner) is the only one who can change the company subscription status, they cannot be archived, and the only way their position can be changed from admin is if an account ownership transfer occurs within your busybusy account.

We do highly recommend that the actual owner of the company is the Admin (Owner) of the busybusy account, but there are a handful of circumstances in which a busybusy account ownership may need to be transferred from one Admin user to another Admin user. For example: if the business is sold to new owners, the person who initially created the busybusy company account is not the actual owner of the business. This may also be necessary as a result of unforeseen circumstances such as a tragedy or death.

Transferring Account Ownership

From the Web

  1. From your Left Navigation Menu, select Settings

  2. In Settings, select Company Profile

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Company Profile section to Account Details

    • This where you will see the Primary Account Holder name, Account Created date and Subscription Status

  4. Select the Transfer Ownership button

  5. In the Transfer Ownership pop-up window, select the new admin owner from the primary account holder drop-down, then select Submit

  6. You will now notice the account has been transferred and the new Admin (Owner) will be listed as the Primary Account Holder

A busybusy account can only be transferred to an admin within the company who has a verified email address. An admin can verify their email address from their My Account page in their busybusy account. To verify an email address simply go to your left navigation bar, select your profile picture/initials at the very top of the navigation bar, from the drop-down, select My Account, if a user has not verified their email address, they will see a blue notification box at the top of their My Account page including a hyperlink to Verify your email here.

On the Mobile App

  1. From your Left Navigation Menu, select Settings

  2. In Settings, select Profile (On Android) or My Account (on iOS)

  3. Near the bottom of your mobile screen, select the Transfer Ownership button and select the Admin user you would like to transfer the account ownership to

Remember! Account ownership transfer can only occur when an admin has a verified email address within busybusy.

And that’s it! Your account ownership has now been transferred to the proper Admin user in busybusy.
