Unique OwnerID/FileId error message

This issue can be caused because of a few reasons. Either the company file has been moved from its original location, the un-registration from QuickBooks Web Connector failed, or you no longer have the same computer and are trying to re-install the web connector on your new setup. To fix this, you need to remove the stamp of the existing Owner ID.

Step 1: Open your QuickBooks Desktop

Step 2: Use the link to download the CP3 tool

Step 3: Select file

  • Maneuver to your Downloads folder on the left hand side of the pop up window

  • Single click on the most recent busybusy.qwc file

  • Then select open

Step 4: Remove Stamp

Step 5: This will generate the QuickBooks Application Certificate pop-up

  • Select Yes, whenever this QuickBooks company file is open

  • Check the box that says: Allow this application to access personal data such as Social Security Numbers and customer credit card information

This is a general permission by QuickBooks to allow the data to be used for payroll purposes. busybusy does not use Social Security Numbers or credit card information.

Step 6: Select Continue

Step 7: Click Yes for the Application Confirmation window

Step 8: On the Access Confirmation window, select Done

Step 9: A message about doing a backup will appear, select OK

Step 10: You’ll get a confirmation that the Owner ID has been removed. Select OK

Step 11: Close the QBWC CP3 Tool

Step 12: Run the Web Connector again

If you have completed these steps and continue to experience the same error message; please utilize the support channel in busybusy so we can put you in contact with an Integration Specialist to further assist you in troubleshooting this issue.
