The Daily Sign-Off questions are a way to check in with your employees to ensure they are following your company policies and completing their tasks each day. You might want to ask your own daily sign-off questions in addition to or instead of the standard ones we offer. To fill this need, busybusy’s sign-off questions are now customizable! Not only that, but you can assign your custom sign-out questions to different positions. You can ask a ‘yes or no’ question to employees before they can clock out, further helping you manage liability by flagging answers and addressing potential issues quickly. Keep reading to learn how to do this!

Creating Custom Daily Sign-Off Questions

Step One: Navigate to the Daily Sign In/Out Settings

  1. From within your busybusy account, scroll down and select Settings in the left navigation menu.

  2. Select Daily Sign In/Out.

  3. Scroll down to the Daily Sign Off section.

    • You also have the option to use our pre-made questions as well. Check out our article HERE to learn more!

Note: If your company hasn’t enabled Daily Sign-Out questions yet, a pop-up window will appear asking you to enable the feature. Check the box, and you will be able to create a new sign-out question or access the pre-created question templates.

Step Two: Create a New Question

  1. Select the Custom Questions box and check the box to enable your own questions.

  2. Select + Create Question.

  3. Type a Yes or No question by selecting the white text box underneath the Question heading.

    • Remember, the question must be answerable with a ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ For example, ‘Do you need material for tomorrow?’

    • There is a 200 character limit per question. We recommend keeping your questions brief and concise.

  4. The Explanation box can be used to add clarity to your question.

  5. Select Whom to Ask.

    • Questions can be assigned to user permission levels by selecting the appropriate category under the Whom to Ask drop-down box.

    • Select the group of employees you wish to answer this question by selecting their position or selecting Everyone to assign it to everyone.

  6. Select how busybusy will Handle “Yes” Response.

    • You need to determine what will happen if your employee answers ‘Yes.’ You can select No Action or Flag Response. Flagging means an administrator will be alerted that an employee’s answer needs attention.

  7. Enable the Follow-Up Question box (optional).

    • The Follow-Up Question box gives you the option to ask employees a follow-up question if they answer “Yes.” For example, if an employee answers “Yes” to needing material for the next day, the follow-up can ask, “What material is needed?”

  8. Choose how busybusy will Handle “No” Response.

    • You need to determine what will happen if your employee answers “No.” These are the same options as a “Yes” response: No Action or Flag Response.

  9. Enable the Follow-Up Question box (optional).

    • The Follow-Up Question box provides administrators with an option to ask employees a follow-up question if they answer “No.” For example, if an employee answers “No” to a material question, a possible follow-up question might be, “What material do you have left from today?”

  10. Once all the fields are filled out, hit Create. Your new custom sign-off question will now appear in the list!

Good to Know

  • You can add multiple custom sign-off questions if needed.

  • If you have multiple custom questions, you can also change the order in which they appear.

  • To view responses from the Daily Sign-Off questions, including flagged responses, you will go from the left navigation menu and select Verification then Daily Sign-Off.
