Creating a Cost Code JSA (Web & Mobile)

Cost Code JSAs provide a structured way to ensure safety measures are reviewed and understood by employees working under specific cost codes. Follow these steps to set one up for your team.

  • Project Scoping: Use this feature carefully to avoid restricting access unintentionally.

  • OSHA Compliance: Include detailed steps, hazards, and preventive measures to align with safety standards.

  • Flexibility: Both web and mobile platforms allow easy editing and updating of Cost Code JSAs.

Creating a Cost Code JSA on Web

  1. Access the JSA Reports Window:

    • Log in to busybusy on your web browser.

    • Click on Safety in the left-hand navigation menu and select JSA Reports.

  2. Start a New JSA:

    • Click the Create button.

    • Select Cost Code JSA as the type.

  3. Select a Cost Code:

    • Choose the cost code you want to associate with the JSA.

    • This is a required step for Cost Code JSAs.

  4. Configure Clock-In Review Settings:

    • Check the box to require a Clock-In Review if you want employees to review the JSA when clocking into this cost code.

    • Set the Review Frequency (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) as needed.

  5. Optional: Scope the JSA to a Project:

    • Enable Project Scoping to tie the JSA to a specific project.

  6. Outline Task Steps:

    • List the steps employees follow to complete the task.

    • Use the Add Step button to add all steps now, or edit and reorder them later.

    • Click Submit.

  7. Identify Hazards and Preventive Measures:

    • Add potential hazards and corresponding preventive measures for each step.

    • Attach photos for clarity if needed.

  8. Include Chemicals, PPE, and Training:

    • Click the + next to the chemicals and PPE sections, and add items from your managed lists.

    • Attach applicable safety training materials.

  9. Submit the JSA:

    • Review all details and click Submit Report to save the JSA.

Creating a Cost Code JSA on Mobile

  1. Access the JSA Reports Section:

    • Open the busybusy mobile app.

    • Tap on Safety in the main navigation menu (or under the three-dot More menu).

    • Select JSA Reports.

  2. Start a New JSA:

    • Tap the + icon to create a new JSA.

    • Select Cost Code JSA as the type.

  3. Select a Cost Code:

    • Choose the cost code from the list.

    • This step is required for Cost Code JSAs.

  4. Configure Clock-In Review Settings:

    • Toggle the Clock-In Review option if required.

    • Tap on Frequency to select a review interval (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).

  5. Optional: Scope the JSA to a Project:

    • Enable Project Scoping and select a project if needed.

  6. Outline Task Steps:

    • List the steps employees follow to complete the task.

    • Use the Add Step button to add all steps now, or edit and reorder them later.

    • Click Save.

  7. Identify Hazards and Preventive Measures:

    • Tap on each step to add hazards, preventive measures, and photos.

  8. Include Chemicals, PPE, and Training:

    • Tap the + icon in the Chemicals or PPE sections to add relevant items.

    • Attach safety training materials from the library.

  9. Submit the JSA:

    • Review the details and tap Submit Report to save the Cost Code JSA.
