Replacing paper time cards? Good idea. In busybusy, you can do this a million different ways!

Ok. Maybe not a million; we’re time tracking software experts, not mathematicians. BUT, there are several combinations of the three ways to track time in busybusy that you can use to ditch that paper AND get accurate data from the field.

The American Payroll Association estimates that the rate of human error in time card preparation is between 1% and 8%. On the high end, for a company that runs $10,000 a year in payroll, that’s a loss of $800. A company with $100,000 it’s costing $8,000, and at half a million, a company is losing $40,000 a year! That’s a lot of shovels, pipe, or concrete; you name it!

“But we need two clock in methods for different parts of our company…”

We thought you might.

That’s why we’ve developed THREE different ways to clock in and out. Your company can use one method, two, or all three! Most of our clients find it super helpful to use a combination of 2 or 3 of the methods together. And those three ways work on a whole bunch of different devices; an employee’s phone, or a phone provided to them, an iPad, Android tablet, Chromebook, or from the Web on a personal computer or laptop.

Track time as an Individual

The most utilized way to track time in busybusy is ‘Individual Tracking’. It is the method we launched the app with originally and is by far the most accurate (if done right…;)). From admins to laborers, any user can track time for themselves using the Dashboard in the mobile app or the My Status page on the Web. You can use cell phones, iPads, Android tablets, Chromebooks, and personal computers to clock in and out, switch between job and cost codes, and answer both the clock in and clock out questions. There’s no limit to the number of devices you can log into with your busybusy credentials.

Use Supervisor Tools to Track Time

Supervisors can track time for multiple employees at once on any device that supports the iOS or Android app versions of busybusy via Supervisor Tools. So whether it’s a dedicated crew that the Foreman is tracking time for or a mix of employees that changes daily, Supervisor Tools allows the user with the correct permission levels to clock employees in and out, one at a time, by employee group, or a combination of employees chosen at that time. In addition, supervisors can choose the project and cost code for the whole lot and assign equipment independently to each employee when clocking multiple people in at once.

Track Time with Kiosk Mode

Turn any mobile device or tablet into a Kiosk clock in station where employees can quickly clock in and out, switch projects or cost codes, go on and off break by using a four-digit pin, and having their picture taken using facial recognition (both are optional). This is great for companies with employees working out of a shop. Supervisors in the field can also turn their cell phones into a Kiosk. This option is excellent for crews who might not have the latest technology for their own personal device or companies that don’t have a BYOD (bring your own device) policy. The best part, because busybusy is cloud-based and real-time, all three methods of tracking time can be used together for the ultimate time tracking experience.
