Creating custom safety checklists in busybusy allows you to tailor inspections to meet specific needs, ensuring thorough safety checks. Editing a custom inspection checklist in busybusy allows you to update or modify the checklist as your safety requirements evolve. These features are only available on the web.

Important:

  • Checklist creation is available on the web version of busybusy.

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions can create and manage checklists. You can learn more about inspection permissions from our article HERE.

Create a Custom Inspection Checklist

You can also click HERE to jump to a video that will walk you through how to create your checklist.

  1. Access the Inspections Feature:

    • Navigate to the left-hand menu and click on Safety.

    • Select Inspections under the Safety heading.

    • If this is your first time using the feature, click on the blue Manage Checklist button.

  2. Create a New Checklist:

    • Click the Create button.

    • Enter a name for your checklist.

    • Optionally, limit visibility by clicking the Limit Inspectors box and selecting specific employees.

    • Click Submit to save your checklist.

  3. Add Categories and Questions:

    • Click on the checklist you’ve just created.

    • Click Add Category, enter a name and click Submit.

    • To add questions, click Add Question, type your question in a yes-or-no format, and add any necessary recommendations.

    • Click Submit to save your question.

  4. Edit or Delete Categories and Questions:

    • To edit or delete a category, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the category.

    • To edit or delete a question, click on the question or the three dots next to it, and make the necessary changes.

Edit a Custom Inspection Checklist

  1. Access the Inspections Feature:

    • Navigate to the left-hand menu and click on Safety.

    • Select Inspections under the Safety heading.

  2. Select the Checklist to Edit:

    • Click on the checklist you wish to edit from your list of checklists.

  3. Edit Categories and Questions:

    • To edit a category, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the category and select Edit.

    • Make the necessary changes and click Submit.

    • To edit a question, click on the question itself or the three dots next to it, make your changes, and click Submit.

  4. Save Your Changes:

    • Ensure all edits are completed and click Save to update the checklist.


Limit Inspection Checklists to Certain Employees

This function is limited to users with the permission to Manage Safety Inspections. You can learn more about that permission HERE.

  1. Access the Inspections Feature:

    • Navigate to the left-hand menu and click on Safety.

    • Select Inspections under the Safety heading.

  2. Limit Inspectors:

    • Click the Limit Inspectors box within the checklist settings.

    • Select the employees who will have access to this checklist.

    • Click Submit to save your changes.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review and update your checklists to reflect any changes in safety protocols or regulations.

  • Make sure to regularly review and update inspector permissions as needed.

    • Limiting checklist visibility ensures that only qualified personnel can perform specific inspections, helping to maintain safety standards and compliance.

  • Familiarize yourself with the editing options to manage checklists effectively.
