  1. Keep the App Updated

    • Ensure employees regularly update their busybusy app to the latest version through the App Store or Google Play Store. This helps address bugs and ensures access to the newest features.

    • Employees can check the app version within the busybusy mobile app under Menu > Settings > About.

  2. Avoid Hard Closing the App

    • Employees should not close the app from running in the background. Doing so may interrupt the syncing process.

    • Allow the app to remain open for 5–10 minutes after clocking out or completing tasks to ensure all data syncs properly.

  3. Enable Permissions for Background Syncing

    • Grant the busybusy app permissions for:

      • Cellular data and background app refresh in phone settings. This ensures data syncs even with poor or intermittent internet connectivity.

      • Always Allow location access to improve features like location-based reminders, even if location isn’t required for the employee.

      • Notifications to ensure employees don’t miss critical updates or reminders.

  4. Keep Wi-Fi Enabled

    • Even when using cellular data in the field, keeping W-Fi enabled improves location accuracy and enhances app functionality.

  5. Check for Internet Connectivity

    • Syncing relies on an active internet connection. Employees should check that their devices are connected to Wi-Fi or have cellular service.

    • If working offline, the app will store time data locally and sync once an internet connection is available.

  6. Check Cellular Settings for File Syncing

Ensure that cellular data allows busybusy to sync photos, documents, field reports, and signatures. Some cell providers may block this by default, so employees should verify this in their device settings.

  1. Verify Data Sync

    • Employees can check their synced hours within the busybusy mobile app by going to:

      • Timecard Sign-off: Displays server-synced time.

      • Reports Tab: Reflects server-synced data for verification.

    • Supervisors can encourage employees to regularly confirm data is correctly synced.

  2. Verify Device Performance

    • Storage: Ensure phones have enough available storage. Low storage can cause performance issues across all apps, including busybusy.

    • Battery Health: Poor battery health can lead to degraded app performance. Employees should monitor battery health and replace phone/battery if needed.

  3. Troubleshooting Steps for Sync Issues

    • Debug Tools: Check for pending data or syncing error logs under Menu > Settings > Debug Tools.

    • Reinstall the App: If issues persist, uninstall and reinstall the app.

      • ⚠️NOTE: Unsynced entries may be lost and need to be re-entered manually. Please make sure all data is synced before re-installing the app.

    • Clear Database: Navigate to Menu > Settings > Debug Tools > Clear

      • ⚠️WARNING: This will delete any unsynced data. Please make sure all data is synced before clearing the database.

  4. Logins and Usernames

    • Employees must log in with the correct username linked to the company account. Mismatched usernames prevent data from syncing.

  5. Additional Tips

    • After clearing the database or reinstalling the app, allow the app time to rebuild and sync.

    • Supervisors can periodically clear browser cache and cookies on the web version to avoid display issues.
